A respected natural scientist, conservationist and animal lover, Beatrix Potter is known the world over for her whimsical picture books featuring cats, rabbits, mice and other creatures of the English countryside. She has been an object of so much love and fascination that numerous books, movies, and even ballets have been produced to depict her life and stories.
Potter wrote, illustrated and published most of her children’s books in the first two decades of the 20th century – but! In 2015, a publisher at Penguin Random House discovered an unpublished manuscript in an archive that will be published in 2016, with illustrations by Sir Quentin Blake, Roald Dahl’s celebrated illustrator.
Join us in a nice, hearty, celebratory “yay!” for a new Beatrix Potter children’s book with illustrations by such a fantastic artist!
